I met Fred at my launch in 2007. He was over from the US on his regular search for new talent during the London Design Festival. He loved my stuff, we kept in touch and it turned out that we could work together in a way I hadn't heard about before - I could sell him my IDEAS!
Obviously that's called 'licensing'! A good ten years later now I've licensed over 30 ideas to 8 companies, and it all started with Fred and the first idea of mine he took on 'Have An Ice Day' - a smiley face ice cube tray. Yes, me and Fred do love a pun. Look out for the orginal sketch I sent him. It's pretty good.
Fred, the company, just happens to be one of the leading brands in giftware in the world. They are all about 'taking every-day functional products and turning them into something fresh and unexpected, something funny, something personal.' So you can see why we get on.
Here you can see all the product ideas I licensed to Fred. Except for one which is a bit dodgy that I'm not going to tell you about.
