Museumaker Arts Council project, Kedleston Hall

As part of Museumaker, a major national Arts Council project pairing designer makers with institutions, I was shortlisted for National Trust property Kedleston Hall and selected for Woodhorn Museum & Archive.

My proposal was to celebrate and embrace the 'party house' history of Kedleston, to help visitors better explore, discover and understand the property and it's rich heritage. Red gravel forming a huge red carpet to welcome guests plus gold balloons errupting from the roof, makes a stunning visual impact and introduces the idea of something special about to happen. Inside, films for the bedroom, dining room and kitchen would be projected, bringing the house to life and alluding to it's rich past.
